The file list window contains a list of items which are placed there in a variety of ways. The options are:
1. Items located during a standard Find...
2. Items dropped on File Buddy with the appropriate drop keys held down, or if the Default Drop Action preference is set to View in List in the Preferences dialog.
3. Items added to the list using the Add To List... command.
4. Expanding a folder in the list.
5. Items located as a result of using the Find Resources... command.
6. Duplicate files found by the Find Duplicate Files… command.
If the file list window is already open, one of two things can happen to existing items in the list when new items are added.
When items are added by dropping from the Finder, the Add To List... command, or as a result of a Find that uses the Add to Existing List option, existing items remain, and the new items are selected. If a new item is the same as an existing item, it is not added a second time, and the old one is not selected.
Items are added in other ways replace the existing items.
